The Mandla city is located in the loop formed by the Narmada River and its tributaries; situated here is the historical Ramnagar Fort/Mandla Fort which was constructed by the Gond kings in the late 17th century. Located nearly 24kms from the Mandla city it is also called as Moti Mahal and an architectural marvel and is known for its three-storey stretegic design. The cleverly designed fort was built on the banks of the Narmada River so that the river formed a natural defence from three sides. When on a trip to Mandla do not forget to visit this historical place.
