One of the most popolar tourist destinations in Mandla, The kanha Tiger Reserve or National Park is located in the Maikal Hills of the Satpura Mountain Range. Given the status of a national park in 1955, Kanha is also known as the tiger land, with several tigers & tigeresses inhabiting the region. Being reserved forest hunting is strictly prohibited here. Providing a safe place for the rapidly declining population of tigers the project Tiger is being implemented here with complete sincerity. Wild Dogs, Indian Barasingha, Spotted Deers, Leopard, Swamp deer, Sambar, Wild Pigs, Grey Langur and over 300 species of birds are the other inhabitants of this region. A must see place for the wildlife enthusiasts; one can take a jungle safari either an open jeeps or by elephant rides. Shravan Chita, Shravan Tal, Macha Dongar & Bamni Dadar are other places of interest in this park from where one can get a breathtaking view of the sunset. There is an orientation centre/museum and grasslands of Mukki and sonf which further engage the tourist and provide them all the interesting trivia about the amazing tigers.

Safari Timings at Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park remain open for visitors from 16th October to 30th June. The safari timings are:

Note:

• At Kanha afternoon shift of Jeep Safari remain close for visitors on Every Wednesday.
• Morning & Afternoon both the shift remain close on Holi festival (In the month of March)

There are some inportant details which are required to book safari:

• Full Name of every visitor
• Age & Gender
• Nationality
• Any Identity proof details like Passport, Driving License, PAN Card or Voter
• I D Card. Visitor is required to carry the same ID proof in original at the time of visiting the national park.

The Nearest Railway Stations for accessing Kanha National Park is Gondia & Jabalpur. Gondia railway station is 145kms / 03:00 hrs drive from Kanha (Khatia Entrance Gate). Jabalpur railway station is 160kms / 04:00 hrs drive from Kanha (Mukki Entrance Gate)

By Air:

The Nearest Airport for Kanha National Park are Jabalpur 160 Kms, Raipur 250 Kms & Nagpur 300 Kms. You can also opt for Bhopal, Gwalior or Khajuraho Airport.

Following information's needed to book Kanha Jungle safari (Only 6 Peoples are allowed in a Jeep) Child Below 5 Years are FREE:

* (There are 2 safaris in a day, one morning and one evening, Wednesday Evening is holiday).
* Please Carry Original ID with you, it will be verify at Entry Gate, so it’s must. (All Guests)

* ******** Due to scanty No. of safaris, we strongly advised to book safaris almost 90 days before to Avoid any inconvenience.

Other than Park entrance ticket one has to pay Vehicle charges & guide fee separately. At Kanha National park in a single day jeep safari can be done 02 times. One in the early morning hours & the other one in the late afternoon by using 06 seated open vehicles. In each vehicle 6 passengers were allowed to visit along with one naturalist/Guide and one driver. Limited no of vehicles are permitted to enter inside the forest in each shift. It is advisable to book the entrance ticket before 90 Days to avoid any chance of unavailability of Jungle safari.
